Jobless rates rise in 29 state counties in November

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Unemployment rates rose in 29 of West Virginia's 55 counties in November.

WorkForce West Virginia said Friday that 22 counties reported jobless rate decreases, while rates were unchanged in six counties.

Monongalia County has the lowest rate in the state at 4.3 percent. Clay County's 14.1 percent rate is the highest.

West Virginia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.3 percent, down two-tenths of a percentage point from October's rate.
