CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Frontier Communications is testing mobile voice and data services with AT&T that eventually will be available in West Virginia.
Customers can bundle AT&T wireless services with Frontier products to get a "significant monthly bundle discount," said Don Banowetz, president of Frontier Mobile & On-Network Video, in a news release.
"By using their Frontier home wi-fi with their cellphone, smartphone or tablet -- instead of using their cellular plan data -- they save and save," Banowetz said in the release. "And when they want to use wireless data, they now have access to a great network from AT&T."
Dan Page, Frontier spokesman for West Virginia, said the company does not have a date yet for when the services will be available in West Virginia.
Frontier and AT&T Mobility announced the three-year agency agreement in November 2011. The partnership offers Frontier customers the benefits of AT&T's mobile broadband network and an array of wireless devices and applications as part of a bundle with Frontier. The mobile and voice data services are presented on a single bill from Frontier.
Frontier customers who subscribe to AT&T's wireless services have access to more than 29,000 AT&T wi-fi hot spots in the United States.
