CHARLESTON, W.VA. -- The hills will ring with fiddle music and mountain rifles when the third annual Franklin George Old Time Music Gathering takes place April 23 and 24 at Camp Sheppard, in Roane County's Gandeeville, located on U.S. 119, nine miles south of Spencer.
The event is free and the public is invited, but it is an old-time music gathering, so organizers discourage bluegrass and electric instruments.
The fun starts Friday afternoon, and continues until Saturday evening. A black-powder shoot will be held Saturday.
All levels of musicianship are welcome to this informal gathering that features no stage performances, workshops or vendors.
Food will be available Friday evening, Saturday noon and evening.
There is cabin space for men, women and couples. RV hookups are $25.00 per night, which includes electricity only. Water is available onsite, but a dump station is not.
