BridgeFest
The Bridge Road Neighborhood Association will hold BridgeFest from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday South Hills Plaza. There will be music by The Lost Cause, food booths, zumba demonstrations, family activities, a Jupiter jump and an appearance by world champion lumberjack Arden Cogar. A black-light art workshop runs from noon to 9 p.m. at The Art Store.
Parking is limited. Shuttles begin at 5:30 p.m. from Sacred Heart on Virginia Street and Leon Sullivan Way and from St. Matthews on Bridge and Norwood roads. They will run the duration of the event. Call 304-343-2190.
'The Goonies' screening
The Alban Theater is celebrating 1985 with its free film series this month. Now 25 years old, the family adventure comedy "The Goonies" screens at 7:30 p.m. today Thursday at the theater, 65 Olde Main St., St. Albans. It's rated PG. Call 304-539-3147.

The show is the last for musical director Skipp Kropp, who is moving to Indianapolis. Taking over the Kordsmen after his departure will be Theodore Rose II, who is one of the co-directors.

Red Green meet-and-greet
A free meet-and-greet with Steve Smith of PBS' "The Red Green Show" runs 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Zegeer Hardware, 1421 Washington St. E. There also will be a Duct Tape Art Contest in the store's parking lot. Registration is from 1 to 2 p.m. and awards will be announced at 4:30 p.m. A panel of local artists will judge. Independent film screening
Huntington filmmaker David Smith screens his feature, "Escribitionist," at 10 p.m. Sunday at The Empty Glass, 410 Elizabeth St. The film is about a blog writer whose candor costs him his job and throws his life into a downward spiral, causing him to embark on a soul-searching journey to pay his rent.

'Hair' cast announced
The Charleston Light Opera Guild has announced the cast for its upcoming production of "Hair."
Jeff Hanson stars as Berger, with Eli Chambers as Claude, Michelle Melton as Sheila, Christopher Conard as Woof, Michael Barnes as Hud and Sarah Pauley as Chrissy.
The cast also includes Jennifer Arnold, Beth Bowden, Travis Bradford, Ted Brightwell, Cameron Burford, Danielle Conard, Jessica Cooper, Alina Cuadra, Lindsey Duvall, Courtney Fint, Greg Garner, Shefica Heyliger, Kristi Holstein, Shelia Jarrett, Brittany Javins, Kathleen Jordan, Amelia Legg, Alicia Lewis, Erin Murphy, Meredith Overcash, Kristen Pennington, Toni Pilalto, Hanna Plumley, Caroline Chamness Rainey, Kristen Showen, Cassie Sorrells, Ethan Stone, Austin Thomas and Tim Whitener.

Ballet art contest winner
In April, the Charleston Ballet sponsored a graphic art design contest for West Virginia students in grades 5 through 12 seeking a logo for the world premiere of its "Pinocchio," which debuts in March 2011. The winner was Allisyn Monteleone, a recent George Washington High School graduate. Top entries will be on display in the theater lobby for the show's premiere.
