Singer/songwriter Luke Bryan says he's looking forward to the release of his new album, "Tailgates and Tanlines," which he says has a little something for almost everybody.
Bringing families out on the road isn't always easy, and it's hard being away from home.
Bryan said, "Obviously, you want to be home with the kids and you have to be out on the road. When you're home, you're always trying to catch up. It feels like a double life."
Which it is.
On the road, Bryan's a country star with a new album. At home, he's a dad.
"You just hope you can get home," he added, but getting home isn't easy when you've got a hit single on the radio and your new album is due out in stores in just a few days.
"The new single is really doing good," he said. "And I think the new album is showing more growth as an artist."
The record is a chance for Bryan to show off more of his songwriting skills. Bryan co-wrote eight of the album's 13 tracks. Called "Tailgates and Tanlines," the record draws its title from a couple of different songs on the album.
"There's no 'Tailgates and Tanlines' song," Bryan explained. "We got songs touching on that subject matter. There's 'Too Damn Young,' which talks a little about seeing some tan lines, and we have a song called 'Tailgate Blues.' We got the title from the songs."
He's proud of how it turned out.
"We've got some hardcore country stuff on there and some poppier sounding stuff."
Bryan said he was looking forward to letting some people hear it and maybe get home every once in a while.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Luke Bryan is enjoying a pretty hot summer. His latest song, "Country Girl (Shake it for Me)," is in the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Charts. He's also out on the road with country superstar Tim McGraw as part of his "Emotional Traffic" tour.
Bryan, along with McGraw, comes to The Greenbrier July 28 as part of the PGA's Greenbrier Classic. The pair kick off a weekend of top tier entertainment, which includes the Black Eyed Peas July 29 and Keith Urban with Miranda Lambert July 30.
It's a great summer for Bryan, though also surreal. Bryan is still an up-and-coming country singer and McGraw is a veteran hit-maker and country music icon.
"Tim McGraw is a big hero of mine," he said. "It's really a big deal for me to get called up on stage to sing with him."
Touring with McGraw has been a career high point, but he misses his family. Along with a wife at home, Bryan has two young sons. The youngest is less than a year old.
