CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- "America's Got Talent" winner Landau Murphy will perform at 8 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Clay Center in Charleston.
The Logan County native took the top prize on the NBC television show in September with his covers of crooner classics like "I've Got You Under My Skin," "Fly Me To The Moon" and "My Way."
Since the talent-show win, the 37-year-old former car washer has been busy with Las Vegas shows, tours and work on his debut album, "That's Life," scheduled for release Nov. 21 through Columbia Records.
In a news release, Clay Center President and CEO Judy Wellington said hosting Landau's first performance in his home state is an honor for the organization.
"We are excited to bring in a local artist who has represented the state so well on a national stage and used his remarkable talent to find great success in the arts," Wellington said.
"So many people have requested that we try to get him, and we're just thrilled to be able to bring him to the community. This show will be a homecoming for Landau and an opportunity for his fans to see him perform at a local venue without the expense of traveling across the country."
