Beginning today, the Guild Builders youth theater program will stage the musical "Kilroy Was Here!" at the Actors Guild of Parkersburg, 724 Market St. Performances are at 8 p.m. today, Friday and March 9 and 2:30 p.m. March 10-11.

'9 to 5' auditions
Auditions for Huntington's 5th Avenue Theatre Company's production of "9 to 5 - The Musical" begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jean Carlo Stephenson Auditorium at City Hall. Based on the film, the play has roles for ages 14 and above.
Auditioners should have a 30-second song prepared and may bring a backing CD or music for an accompanist. They also will do cold reads from the script and have a movement audition. They should not wear sandals or open-toed shoes.

On March 9, fingerstyle guitarist Richard Gilewitz will host his GillaCamp guitar workshop at Gorby's Music, 214 Seventh Ave., South Charleston. Sessions are 55 minutes long at 11 a.m., noon, 5 and 6 p.m.
The first is "The Fingerpicking Engine," teaching various components of fingerstyle guitar. The second and third are tune breakdowns studying Elizabeth Cotton's "Freight Train" and Davey Graham's "Anji," respectively. The fourth is "Exploration of Open D and Open G Tunings and Slide Guitar."

Four concerts for the 2012 State Fair of West Virginia have been announced: They are country singer Trace Adkins on Aug. 10 (tickets $25-$32); gospel group the Gaither Vocal Band on Aug. 11 ($18-$25); rock star Bret Michaels on Aug. 14 ($19-$26); and teen pop singer Victoria Justice on Aug. 18 ($27-$32).
