Mayberry's celebrates new ownership with day of family fun

Celebrate Mayberry and "The Andy Griffith Show" with Mayberry's Family Restaurant's day of family fun on Saturday.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Mayberry's Family Restaurant in St. Albans is celebrating its re-opening under new management with a day full of free activities for all ages on Saturday. From noon to 9 p.m., there's a pig roast plus inflatable play areas and games for children.

If you or your offspring are dead ringers for a young Ron Howard, enter the Opie Taylor look-alike contest at 1 p.m. for a chance at $100. Then bone up on "The Andy Griffith Show" for the 2 p.m. Mayberry Trivia Contest.

At 3 p.m., meet Lou Maiuri and Jeff Driggs, who appeared on "Bizarre Foods America" and sample some of the goods featured (such as pepperoni rolls and corn fritters) from their segment on West Virginia. There's also a dance party for children from 1:30 to 2 p.m., dancing by the Mountain Valley Cloggers and WV Kickers from 5 to 6 p.m. and a Klassy Kruzers car show from 5 to 9 p.m.

Bluegrass band the Grass Stains perform from 6 to 9 p.m.
