CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- It's highly probable you've not experienced the likes of comedic hypnotist Rich Guzzi, a self-described "cross between Tony Robbins and Tony Soprano." Guzzi's rapid-fire "Comedy Hypnosis Show," delivered in his straight-from-New-Yawk accent, features audience participation hypnosis mixed up with motivational self-help and in-your-face jokes.

"When I did only stand up, the attention was all on me," he says on his website. "Now, everyone is focused on their friends on stage."

Guzzi performs at South Charleston's Comedy Zone in the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, 400 Second Ave., in shows at 8 p.m. Friday and 8 and 10:15 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $18 for the shows, open to ages 21 and up. Call 304-414-2386 or visit www.comedyzonecharleston.com.
