CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A new episode of the web show "Radio Free Charleston" is online now at The PopCult blog with music from Emily Burdette, Godmode Broadway and The Nanker Phelge, plus two short films by Frank Panucci. Host segments were shot at The Mound in South Charleston in almost total darkness.

The reason this episode is hosted from The Mound, says host Rudy Panucci, is that's where part of Shocka-Con, a local horror and fantasy convention, will take place this Saturday (see related story here).

In this week's show, singer/songwriter and filmmaker Emily Burdette presents her debut music video, "Fall Air," directed by Curtis Baskerville and shot in Lewisburg.

Godmode Broadway made its debut on "RFC" earlier this year and on this show perform its song "Origins." On Sept. 29, the band will be part of September Slam at Kanawha Players Theater, an all-day benefit by Wood Boys Music on behalf of state troopers recently killed in the line of duty.

The Nanker Phelge perform a song recorded on Christmas Eve, 2010, at The Empty Glass, "Killer Took a Holiday." The band is featured on the Mound stage at Shocka-Con at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The show is rounded out by two pieces of animation from Frank Panucci, "International Road Signs" and "Lax 2011, Bouncer."
