Quilt exhibit

An exhibit featuring quilts used for communication along the Underground Railroad is on display through Saturday at West Virginia State University's Della Brown Taylor Art Gallery. The exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit www.plantationquilts.com.

Theater auditions

The new LimeLight Theatre Company will hold auditions at 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday for its Dec. 19-22 production of "The Nutcracker Story." No Pants Players

The No Pants Players will appear at CAMC's annual Teddy Bear Fair at Women and Children's Hospital from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. At 7 p.m. that evening, the improv troupe will perform a family-friendly show at the Alban Arts Center, 65 Olde Main St., St. Albans. 'Animal Farm' programs

The Kanawha County Public Library is hosting several programs tied to the Charleston Stage Company's production of "Animal Farm" Oct. 18-20 and 27-30. On Saturday, the main library, 123 Capitol St., will host two activities. At 11 a.m., visitors can meet Rivieria, one of the miniature horses from Hidden Dale Farm in Jackson County, and her owner, Adawn Caswell. Zombie festival

A zombie festival runs from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Huntington's Pullman Plaza. It features games, pumpkin carving, a fortune teller, cutest and scariest costume contests and zombie activities like zombie cornhole and zombie target practice.

The day ends with a short zombie walk through the city at 8 p.m., which is either $15 (includes an event T-shirt) or $10 (without shirt). Proceeds benefit Little Victories, a no-kill animal shelter in Ona. Email sbrown7...@aol.com.
