  • 14TH ANNUAL OCTOBER SKY FESTIVAL: Opening ceremonies 10 a.m., Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine. Followed at 11 a.m. by the "First Ever West Virginia State Championship of Paper Airplane Flight." (Entry fee of $2 per person.) The rocket launch takes place at 1:05 p.m. That evening, events move to uptown Beckley for the Annual Chili Night starting 6 p.m. with the Rocket Boys as judges.   • ZOMBIE FESTIVAL: 1 to 8 p.m., Huntington's Pullman Plaza. It features games, pumpkin carving, a fortune teller, cutest and scariest costume contests and zombie activities like zombie cornhole and zombie target practice. The day ends with a short zombie walk through the city at 8 p.m., which is either $15 (includes an event T-shirt) or $10 (without shirt). Parking is available at the lower left lot of Charleston Tennis Club until 5:30 p.m. Park at George Washington High School after 5:30 p.m. Trolley service will shuttle visitors between parking areas and the school.
