Singers from 3 states to compete at WVU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Dozens of high school and college singers from three states will compete in a weekend competition at West Virginia University.

The Tri-State National Association of Teachers of Singing student competition will be held Saturday at the WVU Creative Arts Center in Morgantown. The finals will take place starting at 2 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre.

Singers from southeast Ohio, western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia will compete in up to 24 categories, including musical theater and classical sections. More than 30 WVU students also will participate.

The event is free and open to the public.
