CHARLESTON. W.Va. -- The Flashback Film Series at Park Place Stadium Cinemas concludes its fall season with the Hitchcock classic, "Vertigo," which replaced "Citizen Kane" as the best film of all time in the 2012 Sight & Sound critics' poll. The film screens at 4 p.m. Sunday and 4 and 7 p.m. Monday.

It stars Jimmy Stewart as former police detective John "Scottie" Ferguson, whose work on the force has led him to retire due to depression and vertigo. He falls into a web of deception involving a mysterious woman named Madeleine (Kim Novak). His acrophobia is depicted by a now-famous technique called the dolly zoom, an in-camera trick that distorts perspective to disorientating effect.

Tickets are $5. The theater is at 600 Washington St. E. Call 304-345-6541 or visit www.ourshowtimes.com/flashback.html.
