CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Capitol Conservation District is sponsoring a photo contest, open to Kanawha County amateur photographers of all ages. Each person may enter up to five photos. Winners will be chosen in Adult (18 years old as of Oct. 1, 2012) and Youth divisions.
Black and white prints, color prints and prints from digital photos are acceptable and will be judged together. Judges prefer that photos should be no larger than 8"x10" and should not be matted. Photos must be taken in West Virginia. Categories include conservation practices like tree planting, close-up conservation like recycling and gardening, conservation in action such as school programs and farming, and agricultural conservation across West Virginia like farm markets and farm scenes.
First-place winners will receive $75, second place is $50, third place is $25 and honorable mention is $10.
