CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- As has become tradition in November, the monthly downtown ArtWalk has surrendered its usual third Thursday date in favor of a Black Friday blowout, which runs 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in 19 venues around Charleston. This edition of ArtWalk is also a chance to support area artisans who will have artwork, jewelry, pottery and more for sale for the holidays.

Among the exhibits is "Small Works by Allied Artists" at The Art Emporium, 823 Quarrier St. Also, the Charleston Ballet, 100 Capitol St., features photos by Aurelius Jeffrey, K.D. Lett and Jurgen Lorenzen with performances by W.Va. Youth Symphony players. The House of Luxe, 817 Quarrier Street has jewelry by Deborah Davis; The Purple Moon, 906 Quarrier St., is spotlighting artist Glen Brogan and Taylor Books, 226 Capitol St., has a collection of holiday works in a variety of media by 18 artists.

Visit www.charlestonartwalk.com for a map of venues, or just head downtown and follow the crowds on Hale, Quarrier and Capitol streets.
