The West Virginia Division of Culture and History is accepting applications through
Jan 7 from dance company and school directors for the 2013 West Virginia State Dance Festival. The festival is scheduled for April 19-21 at the Culture Center.

Art exhibit submissions
Gallery Eleven, 1025 Quarrier St., is accepting entries through Jan. 8 for its "Crazy Eights" exhibit. All entries must be no more than 8 inches by 8 inches. The entry fee is $5, and there is no jurying. The exhibit runs Jan. 12-Feb. 23. Call 304-342-0083.
Murder-mystery dinner theater
The South Charleston Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a murder-mystery dinner theater by Huntington's Murder & Merriment troupe at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Comedy Zone, Holiday Inn, 400 Second Ave., South Charleston.
Titled "The Butler Didn't Do It," it's about an eccentric millionaire who hosts a party for a major announcement, and during the event his loyal butler is found dead. Guests who correctly solve the case compete for a prize
