Fleck, Washburn on 'Mountain Stage'
"Mountain Stage" goes on the road to West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon for an April 7 show at the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts.
The lineup includes two of the world's most highly regarded banjo players, Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, in a rare duo performance.
Nashville-based modern bluegrass band The Steel Drivers and up-and-coming string band The Stray Birds also will perform.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 1. General admission tickets are $30 in advance. A limited number of student tickets are available on campus for $20.

Screenwriting and graphic novel workshop
Filmmaker Danny Boyd and screenwriter Joseph Ng will present "Screen + Graphic Novel Writing 101" this weekend at the West Virginia State University Economic Development Center, 1506 Kanawha Blvd. W. The pair will present a general overview of the screenwriting process, focusing on the building blocks needed for a good script.
The workshop runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $40. Register at digiso.org.

'Cabaret' dinner theater in Huntington
Huntington's Arts Resources for the Tri-State kicks off its 2013 season with "Cabaret" at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Feb. 8-9 in the Renaissance Ballroom, 900 Eighth St. (old Huntington High School).
