Symphony performs Mozart, Bruckner this weekend

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 in C and Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 in C minor at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Clay Center with guest pianist Alexandre Moutouzkine. The young Russian began winning competitions at age 14 and at age 19 earned a Jury Discretionary Award at the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition; he has performed at venues around the world.

This is the first of the Mary Price Ratrie Legacy Concerts in honor of the West Virginia philanthropist. Preludes, a conversation on the evening's music with Maestro Grant Cooper, take place at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $12 for adults and $6 for students and children.
