CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Contemporary Youth Arts Company presents the new Dan Kehde play "Western Civ." at 8 p.m. today through Saturday and March 21-23 at the Capitol Center Theater, 123 Summers St. The drama follows the loss of idealism in a young volunteer at a Washington, D.C., free clinic during the four days surrounding the Kent State massacre in spring 1970. Strong language and violence punctuate the piece as a parade of casualties from the social, sexual and military upheaval of the day wanders in, searching for first aid, guidance or a place to come in from the cold.

The performance features 18 young area actors. Tickets are $6 for students and seniors and $10 adults. Group rates are available. Call 304-342-6522.
