CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Country, alt-country and country boy survival are all featured in the slate of new shows added to the Clay Center's spring season.On May 10 at 8 p.m., Lyle Lovett and His Acoustic Group perform. The Grammy Award winner will be sings songs from his latest, "Release Me," along with selections from his other 14 records.
On May 24 at 8 p.m., Old Crow Medicine Show brings its blend of alt-country and Americana to the Clay Center. Best known for the song "Wagon Wheel," the band, which features former longtime Harpers Ferry resident Chance McCoy, has opened for the Dave Matthews Band, appeared on NPR's "A Prairie Home Companion," performed on a float for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and headlined a show at the Grand Ol' Opry.
On July 2 at 2 p.m., the Clay Center brings Special Forces veteran Mykel Hawke and survival instructor Dave Caterbury. The stars of "Man, Woman, Wild" and "Dual Survival" will teach survival tactics and techniques.
Tickets for Lyle Lovett are $35, $45, $55 and $65. Tickets for Old Crow Medicine Show are $25, $30, $35 and $45. Tickets for Hawke and Caterbury are $15.
Spring season ticket holders can buy tickets for all three shows now. Clay Center Concert Connoisseurs members and members with the Concert Connoisseur benefits can purchase tickets tickets Friday.
