WomanSong's 'Diva Moment'

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The womanSong Chorale will have its "Diva Moment" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St. The group's spring concert spans opera to Broadway and features collaborations with the Charleston Gay Men's Chorale, soprano Mariel Van Dalsum and Light Opera Guild veterans Sandy Sowell and Laurie Pennington.

There will be Broadway selections from "Evita," "Wicked," "Rent," "The King and I," "Kiss Me Kate" and more, plus classic opera choruses from "Carmen" and "Macbeth" as well as American songbook standards by Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein and more.

A reception follows. Admission is free, but concertgoers are asked to bring non-perishable foods as a donation to local food pantries. For more information, visit womansongchorale.org.
