Interactive Clay Center exhibit opens Saturday

By Staff reports

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A new crossover exhibit spans two Clay Center galleries when "Wavelengths: The Art & Science of Color and Light" opens Saturday.

Experiment with hands-on activities to learn how manipulating color can alter the look of an object in a one-of-a-kind exhibit created by Clay Center staff. Alter the look of the Center's permanent art collection as you adjust light to change the appearance of various works, spin tops to mix colors, cast a rainbow shadow and more.

"We wanted to come up with something that brought art and science together, and that anyone of any age could enjoy," says Clay Center President and CEO Judy Wellington.

"Wavelengths" is on display in the Mylan Explore-atory through Sept. 8 and in the art gallery through Nov. 22.

Admission is $6 for children and $7.50 for adults. Call 304-561-3570 or visit www.theclaycenter.org.
