'Space Out' at Clay Center Saturday

Visitors to the Clay Center's "Space Out Saturday" family fun day this weekend can launch their own water rockets at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Need a little time off the planet? The Clay Center's Space Out Saturday family fun day from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday will take you out of this world.

You can test your skills in an astronaut training lab, take a walk through the solar system, design a planet pendant necklace and more. You can also launch your own water rocket at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., and learn how velocity and mass affect the creation of craters at 3:30 p.m. You can also trek to "Jupiter: Planetary Giant," the current planetarium show.

Space Out Saturday activities are included in museum admission of $6 for children and $7.50 for adults. Films and planetarium shows are additional. For more information, call 304-561-3570 or visit www.theclaycenter.org.
