CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The African Children's Choir will make several appearances in the area at area churches. The program features well-loved children's songs, traditional spirituals and gospel favorites. Concerts are free, but donations are welcome to support African Children's Choir programs, such as education, care and relief and development programs.

-- Aug. 4, 11 a.m., St Andrew United Methodist Church, 815 Kanawha Terrace, St. Albans
-- Aug. 4, 6:30 p.m., River Cities Community Church, 4385 U.S. 60 East, HuntingtonMusic for Life, the parent organization for The African Children's Choir, works in seven African countries: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. The program has educated more than 52,000 children and impacted the lives of more than 100,000 people through its relief and development programs, according to a news release. MFL's purpose is to help create new leadership for tomorrow's Africa by focusing on education.
