It's raining sharks
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The makers of "Sharknado" knew what they were up to. Step 1: Come up with a ridiculous potential cult-film title and movie concept. Step 2: Start low-budget filming. Step 3: Instant cult film, which during its initial broadcast was being mentioned at the rate of 5,000 tweets per minute.
"Sharknado" tells the story of how a super-sized storm sucks sharks from the sea and hurls them onto land. Now, the Syfy feature, starring Tara Reid and Ian Ziering is storming its way to the big screen. See it in a single local midnight showing Friday at the Nitro Stadium 12 cinema, 12 JW Dr., Nitro. Tickets are $12.50.
You'll have to wait until July 2014 for the no doubt biting NYC-set sequel on Syfy: "Sharknado 2."
