Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Andrew Dice Clay and Sally Hawkins star in Woody Allen's "Blue Jasmine," opening Friday at Park Place Stadium Cinemas.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- "Blue Jasmine" opens exclusively in Charleston at Park Place Stadium Cinemas, 600 Washington St. E., on Friday. Woody Allen's latest, starring Cate Blanchett, is a PG-13 rated drama about a vapid and narcissistic socialite who heads to San Francisco and tries to reconnect with her sister after a life crisis.

It earned a fresh rating with 89 percent positive reviews on aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes with the general consensus that it "finds the director in peak late-period form -- and benefiting from a superb cast led by Cate Blanchett."

To make some room, the indie drama "Fruitvale Station" closes Thursday. Another indie selection, "The Way, Way Back," leaves town Thursday, too; it's at Marquee.
