Bite-size 'RFC' content debuts

By Staff reports

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The first "RFC MINI-SHOW"featuring Jabberwocky is online now at The PopCult Blog. Jabberwocky is a Huntington-based dance band that was recorded Aug. 16 at The Blue Parrot performing Eddie Floyd's "Knock On Wood" and Stevie Wonder's "Uptight (Everything's All Right)."

Jabberwocky's blend of styles includes blues, soul and rock and roll, along with a little Southern rock, country and a horn section more powerful than a locomotive. The band is set to play the Prestera Benefit Oct. 12 in Charleston.

The "RFC MINI SHOW" is a spin-off of "Radio Free Charleston," featuring, as host Rudy Pannuci puts it, "bite-sized bits of musical video goodness to help soothe the pain of the long wait between full-length episodes of 'Radio Free Charleston.'" "Radio Free Charleston" can be seen in The PopCult Blog, which now features daily content. It brings you news from the fringes and horizon of popular culture, including toys, comic books, television, animation, local music and more.
