Two new 'RFC Mini Shows' on PopCult

By Staff reports

This week, the PopCult blog features two new episodes of the "RFC Mini Show," featuring bite-sized nuggets of music taken from unused "Radio Free Charleston" recording sessions.

In an "RFC Mini Show" posted Sunday, Charleston heavy metal stars Zeroking shine with two songs recorded at the Eagles Club on Charleston's West Side last summer during a pediatric cancer benefit show. Zeroking performs at Huntington's Ale House Friday and will be part of the Saturday's All Hallow's Eve Music Fest at the Little Bohemian Lodge in Chillicothe, Ohio.

The second "RFC Mini Show" presents two songs from San Diego's Dread Crew of Oddwood, recorded in September at The Empty Glass. Regular PopCult readers will remember the band from "RFC" episode 190, and a special song that was posted for Talk Like A Pirate Day. The band has returned to the West Coast, where they recently participated in the filming of a promo clip for the video game "Assassin's Creed IV." The "RFC Mini Show" will continue to appear in PopCult during the off-weeks between full episodes of "Radio Free Charleston."
