Clay Center's Saturday Spooktacular

Costumes are encouraged at the annual Clay Center Spooktacular on Saturday.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Come in costume if you wish and enjoy the annual Clay Center Spooktacular Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Events include trick-or-treat bag decorating, the Trick-or-Treat trail and pumpkin decorating ($1 per pumpkin), noon to 4 p.m.; the Haunted Hallway, noon to 3 p.m.; a costume parade, 2:30 p.m.; the Cavern of Curiosities science demo with kooky chemistry concoctions, 1, 2 and 3 p.m. All activities except pumpkin decorating are included in gallery admission of $6 for children and $7.50 for adults.

Then, on Halloween night, after you've put the kids to bed, return to the ElectricSky Theater for a special presentation of Orson Welles' 1938 "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast and a pre-show star talk. Admission is $2.
