CYAC stages 'Lincoln'
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- As we head into February, the month of Abraham Lincoln's birth, the Contemporary Youth Arts Company celebrates the 16th president with a two-weekend staging of the Dan Kehde-Mark Scarpelli musical, "Lincoln," which depicts the American icon's last day.
Bill Rainey stars in the title role with Tanya Dillon-Page as his wife Mary Todd and Daniel Calwell and Will Manahan as his sons Robert and Todd. Jonathan Tucker is John Wilkes Booth and Maddy Gourevitch is Booth's girlfriend, Lucy Hale. More than 25 other local actors of all ages round out the cast, and there's also a 20-piece orchestra, which will perform arrangements by Charleston native Timothy Cooper.
Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Feb. 6-8 and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Capitol Center Theater, 123 Summers St. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Call 304-342-6522.
