Many West Virginia ex-pats have been watching in horror at what's been happening back home with the drinking water. One of those is singer and Tim McGraw tribute artist Adam D. Tucker.
Calling from the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, he said he just had to ask.
"So, how is it?"
The Sissonville native said watching the situation from the outside has been unreal.
"I can't believe that's happening."
But it's not keeping him away. On Friday, he comes to the Clay Center along with viral video star and Pocahontas County native Wyatt Turner.
While Tucker has been performing nightly in Las Vegas the last four years, first at the Golden Nugget and now at Planet Hollywood, he said he still keeps in touch. He still has family in the area, and he worries about them.
"I've been hearing a lot about the water," he said. "Everybody has a lot on their minds, obviously, but I hope they come out to the show and maybe forget about it for a little while."
For Friday's show, Tucker promised to bring some of the glitz and glamour of his Vegas spectacle -- a lot of his Tim McGraw act, plus maybe a little bit of his own stuff.
"It's supposed to be 80 degrees in Vegas Friday and 37 in Charleston," he said. "I'm going to try to bring a little of the Vegas heat when I come."
The desert has been good to Tucker.
