Chamber music concert
The Charleston Chamber Music Society will host a concert by the Atos Piano Trio at 7 p.m. Saturday at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St. The German group consists of a violinist, cellist and pianist. Its program, "A Spring Morning," features works by Debussy, Chaminade, Faure, Boulanger and Francaix.
At 7 p.m., the local youth duo of pianist Jacob Bumarner, a junior at South Charleston High School, and flutist Arayana Misaghi, a senior at George Washington, will perform.
Admission is $20. Students are admitted free with a paying adult or for $5 by themselves. Call 304-344-5389.
QIET will provide music for a dance/informational gathering at Bluegrass Kitchen, 1600 Washington St. E., from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday. Sponsored by FOOTMAD, Family Care and the Campaign to End Child Poverty, the event will promote the healing power of dance and help attendees without health insurance evaluate options for free or reduced-cost insurance.
Admission is $10 or $8 with a health card. Those uninsured and willing to look at insurance options will be admitted for $5. Call 304-346-2871.
UC Builders Luncheon
The University of Charleston Builders will host a luncheon with Bob Brunner on Wednesday in the school's Erma Byrd Art Gallery in Riggleman Hall. Brunner will discuss his book, "Bob Brunner's Reporter's Recollections," which recalls his work as a reporter, news director and anchor for WSAZ.
