Foreign film festival
CHARLESTON W.Va. -- Recently Capital High School's world languages department held its first Foreign Language Film Festival. Students enrolled in all levels of foreign language courses spent an evening viewing films in Spanish and French.
This opportunity is just one way Capital students are exposed to other cultures and languages.
In April, the department will host its annual international luncheon during which students will prepare and dine on foods from Spanish and French-speaking countries.
Spanish teacher Delores Alcazar is the world languages department chair. Her team includes Spanish teachers Ann Endres, Heike Rogers and Sarah Burgess as well as Christy Mullens-Shaw, who teaches French and Spanish, and Diana Bernal, a visiting Amity Scholar from Colombia.
