Life writing course
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Life Writing Class, a 10-week course, will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning March 6, in the Rhododendron Room, Riggleman Hall, University of Charleston.
Genres acceptable for participants span memoir, confessionals, devotionals, how-to nonfiction, short stories and novels, just so long as a work is anchored in some real-life experience or story. Some authors have woven poetry into their book-length works.
The class is taught by John Patrick Grace, executive editor of Publishers Place in Huntington, a nonprofit publishing consortium.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Karin Fuller, award-winning columnist for the Sunday Gazette-Mail, writes about the trials and travails of daily life in her regular column, "Smell the Coffee." In anticipation of National Library Week, which begins April 8, Fuller will read from her columns and books from 12:10 to 1 p.m. April 4.
The reading is part of the brown-bag lunch programs called Feed Your Head, held in the John V. Ray Room on the third floor of the Main Library, 123 Capitol St. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch to the programs. Register online or call 304-343-4646.
