The contest is open to participants in the KCPL child and teen summer reading programs. To enter, simply write a one-page essay on why you want to go to space camp, and turn it in to your local library or email it to spacec...@kanawhalibrary.org by July 9.

Participants must be age 7-14 at the time of their trip, and trips must be taken by Aug. 31, 2013.

Entries must be typed and accompanied by a cover sheet, available at any local library or www.kanawhalibrary.org. It must be signed by you and your parent or guardian.

The grand prize is a three-day, two-night trip for four (two adults and two children) to space camp, lodging, on-site meals, gas cards to cover fuel costs, a signed copy of Homer Hickam's "Crater" and more. Four runners-up will receive a signed copy of "Crater."
