At 6 p.m. Thursday, six West Virginia glass enthusiasts will explain their divergent perspectives on West Virginia glass and how they came to connect with it in "Six Voices: Six Short Stories about West Virginia Glass" at the Culture Center's Archives and History Library.
In celebration of 200 years of West Virginia glass, each presenter will share one object that is symbolic of his or her story. Presenters are Millie Coty of Williamstown (growing up in a glass town), Dave Bush of Weston (teaching glassworkers' children), Dane "Woody" Moore of Jane Lew (managing a glass factory), Dottie Daugherty of Huntington (her inherited passion for collecting glass), Dean Six of Cairo, (growing up around glass) and Tom Felt of Clarksburg (how glass motivated him to move here).
Registration is encouraged for planning purposes but is not required. Call Robert Taylor at 304-558-0230, ext. 163 or email your name, telephone number and the title and date of the program to bobby.l.tay...@wv.gov.
