CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- "Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" came out Nov. 18, signaling the beginning of the end for "Twilight" fans around the world. The saga, based on Stephenie Meyer's bestselling books, started in 2008 with "Twilight" and will end next year with "Breaking Dawn -- Part 2."

Even though this is the beginning of the end, it is still an exciting event for thousands of Twilighters. Being one myself, I know I was anxious to see this movie, which continues the love triangle between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). It's an intense time for this trio because of the long awaited wedding between Edward and Bella, their honeymoon and Bella's pregnancy.

Personally, I thought this was a good movie, but some scenes could have been better, like when Bella's father, Charlie (Billy Burke), learns of Edward and Bella's wedding. In the books, the couple tells him about it personally; here, he only receives an invitation. That was disappointing.

However, it was a nice movie overall, though it probably won't interest anyone who is not into the novels. And if you haven't seen the other movies, don't try to jump in here; it would be hard to keep up with everything that happens.

There's a lot that happens, too. Even with this book being cut into two movies, it's hard to keep everything in. There's also the challenge of deciding where to split up the two parts, but I won't reveal where that split is made.

"Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" was originally rated R until the filmmakers and the studio, Summit Entertainment, realized that their target audience was young teenagers. Some scenes were cut down for the viewer's discretion, but even with those cuts, the movie is still a little risqué.

For instance, when Bella becomes pregnant, things get gruesome for her. The baby is sucking the life out of her, and no one knows how to help. This leads to the birthing scene, which has caused some controversy. I'll give the filmmakers this: it is gory.

After seeing the movie with the cuts made, I'd hate to have seen it without. As it is, it's still pretty bad for younger viewers.
