CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- For George Washington High School senior Mandy Harper, theater is more than a hobby; it's a lifestyle. Although no one would guess it from glancing at her impressive resume or observing her talent onstage, her theatrical debut was just two years ago.

"During my sophomore year, my friend Austin Thomas asked me to audition for 'Romeo and Juliet: A Rock Opera' by Dan Kehde and Mark Scarpelli. After that musical, I just kept doing each show after that and fell in love with the stage.

"My first semi-big role in a play was Gloria in 'The Moment of Greatest Happiness' by Dan Kehde. I was a comical character, and it was fun for my first real play."
