No 'lax' attitude (photos)

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- On March 22, the Capital High boys lacrosse team challenged Kingwood's Preston High School in a match at Coonskin Park. After four 12-minute quarters, the Cougars emerged victorious with a score of 5-2.

The first high school lacrosse teams in West Virginia formed in the mid-2000s, and the sport continues to grow in popularity.

Currently, there are 27 high school teams (both boys and girls) with 11 more showing interest in forming, according to the lacrosse website laxinwv.com.
