Visually "Max Payne 3" is simply stunning. Character models and environments are highly detailed and the Euphoria physics engine allows for incredibly life-like animations. On several occasions I found myself distracted by watching the realistic way enemies crumbled to the ground or tumbled over ledges after being shot. The audio presentation is equally impressive, from the excellent voice-over work to the moody soundtrack by the band Health.
Whether you're new to the dark world of Max Payne or a long-time fan of the series, there's plenty to love about "Max Payne 3." The flawed characters and their stories are engrossing and entertaining, and the core gameplay that surrounds the excellent narrative is challenging without becoming frustrating. "Max Payne 3" is one of the year's first bonafide blockbusters.
