Despite its flaws, "Dead Space 3" is a solid addition to what will be remembered as one of this console generation's signature franchises. The continued move away from a pure survival-horror title is admittedly disappointing, but "Dead Space 3" works because it manages to embrace this change while still staying true to its roots. The combat is every bit as challenging and entertaining as its predecessors, and the detailed world Visceral has created implores players to explore every dark hallway no matter what danger may await in the shadows. While it may not be the same terrifying adventure that haunted my nightmares, "Dead Space 3" is still a scary-good game that shouldn't be missed.
