'Quilling' for kids
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Quilling is a centuries-old art form in which thin strips of paper are coiled into beautiful designs. Kanawha County Public Library offers an introduction to the basics of this art form geared toward children ages 6 to 11.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Allied Artists of West Virginia will exhibit works by 33 member artists through March 31 at the Robert C. Byrd U.S. Courthouse.
"Allied Artists of West Virginia provides a creative network for artists throughout West Virginia to which its member artists are juried. The exhibit at the federal courthouse is a wonderful opportunity for West Virginia artists to showcase their talents and is free and open to the public to enjoy," Allied Artists Vice President Jerre Watkins said in a news release.
The artworks in the exhibit include watercolor, oil, acrylic, photography, charcoal and collage work by Homaira Ahmed, Pat Anderson, Angelina Ashley, Norma Bartlett, Brenda Beatty, Robert Berchtold, Rebecca Burch, Sheila Caim, Linda Clifford, Judy Douglas, Sharon Harms, Deborah Herndon, Steven Holsclaw, Jo Anne Jacobs, Kathleen Kimble, Jane Long, Deborah McHenry, Nancy Louise Mottesheard, Laura Moul, Justine, Mounts, Tom Ogle, Judith M. Pratt, Martha C. Reynolds, Pat Roberts, Mary Russell, Thad Settle, Deborah Sisson, Linda Stonestreet, Connie Stover, Jerre Watkins, Martha Jane Williams and Karen Wolfe.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Two members of the Marshall University Department of Art and Design have been chosen to show their work in an art exhibition in Ohio.
Assistant professors Daniel Kaufmann and Frederick Bartolovic are represented in the Dairy Barn Arts Center's "OH 5" exhibition in Athens, Ohio.
