"Morning Has Broken," a watercolor by Jerre Watkins, is part of an Allied Artists of West Virginia exhibit at the Robert C. Byrd U.S. Courthouse.
According to the show's website, "OH 5" is a biennial juried art exhibition that includes all art media. It features artists from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Bartolovic said there were about 250 entries submitted to the show, and only 63 pieces were accepted. There were three people on the jury panel.
Bartolovic said he submitted a sculptural wall hanging titled "Divided."
Kaufmann said he presented a series of photographs that document the Superfund sites around West Virginia.
The exhibit runs through March 10.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- The Hansford Senior Center in St. Albans will offer a beginning watercolor class beginning March 1. The class will meet for five weeks. The fee is $60 and includes all materials. Concord professor
ATHENS, W.Va. -- Lauri Lydy Reidmiller, Concord University's director of art education, will exhibit her artwork at the Parkersburg Art Center's Main Gallery through March 23.
The show, "Japanese Perspectives," showcases her paintings on silk.
"My paintings often demonstrate asymmetrical balance and uniform fields of color. Surface design is emphasized rather than the illusion of depth, which also reinforces the aesthetics of traditional Japanese screen painting," Reidmiller said.

The reception will feature displays, music, wine and cheese from Bottle & Wedge and demonstrations by local artisans whose work is sold at the Red Caboose Regional Artisan Center. Four Pole Creek will provide music. Door prizes will be offered every half-hour.

'Quilling' for kids
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Quilling is a centuries-old art form in which thin strips of paper are coiled into beautiful designs. Kanawha County Public Library offers an introduction to the basics of this art form geared toward children ages 6 to 11.

Allied Artists
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Allied Artists of West Virginia will exhibit works by 33 member artists through March 31 at the Robert C. Byrd U.S. Courthouse.
"Allied Artists of West Virginia provides a creative network for artists throughout West Virginia to which its member artists are juried. The exhibit at the federal courthouse is a wonderful opportunity for West Virginia artists to showcase their talents and is free and open to the public to enjoy," Allied Artists Vice President Jerre Watkins said in a news release.
The artworks in the exhibit include watercolor, oil, acrylic, photography, charcoal and collage work by Homaira Ahmed, Pat Anderson, Angelina Ashley, Norma Bartlett, Brenda Beatty, Robert Berchtold, Rebecca Burch, Sheila Caim, Linda Clifford, Judy Douglas, Sharon Harms, Deborah Herndon, Steven Holsclaw, Jo Anne Jacobs, Kathleen Kimble, Jane Long, Deborah McHenry, Nancy Louise Mottesheard, Laura Moul, Justine, Mounts, Tom Ogle, Judith M. Pratt, Martha C. Reynolds, Pat Roberts, Mary Russell, Thad Settle, Deborah Sisson, Linda Stonestreet, Connie Stover, Jerre Watkins, Martha Jane Williams and Karen Wolfe.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Two members of the Marshall University Department of Art and Design have been chosen to show their work in an art exhibition in Ohio.
