Rufino Tamayo, Francisco Zuniga and Francisco Corzas Chávez are each represented in the show. Prints and paintings by Alejandro Colunga, Francisco Toledo, Ismael Vargas and Jorge López Garcia, all younger Mexican artists, as well as a selection of prints by a number of international artists who were drawn to the Mexican art scene, including Edith Bry, Leonora Carrington and Jean Charlot.

Summer art school

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Artists Bruce and Lillianne Bowersock are offering their first Watercolor Dreams Summer Art School beginning June 4 and running every week through the last Friday in July. The cost for one week is $80 and includes supplies. Classes will be held on the main floor of River Towers, behind Heritage Station.

Classes include:

Ages 3-6: 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday; class limit 6.

Ages 7-11: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; class limit 6.

Ages 12-16: "Stretch and Sketch" -- students walk around Huntington, by the river, etc., to learn to sketch as they get exercise -- 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Thursday; class limit 6 to 8.

Adults (or kids 7-11): 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday; class limit 10.

Adults: "Stretch and Sketch," 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; class limit 10.

Taylor Books

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Taylor Books' Annex Gallery will feature photographs by Roopa Gogineri, with an opening at 7 p.m. May 23 featuring the photos and stories from East Africa.

Roopa is a native of Charleston and resides in Nairobi, Kenya, working as a freelance photojournalist.
