Art exhibits at library
The Charleston Public Library, 123 Capitol St., will host two art exhibits this summer. "This Quilt Was Really Fun to Make," featuring works by the Kanawha Valley Quilters Guild and the Moon and Stars Quilters Guild, will be on the first floor and "2012 Design Awards: West Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects" will be on the fourth.

Clay Center free for military
Now through Labor Day, all active-duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families will receive free gallery admission to the Clay Center thanks to the Blue Star Museums program, a partnership between Blue Star Families and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Additionally, they will be admitted to planetarium shows for $2 and giant-screen films for $3.
Participants must present a Geneva Convention common-access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card.
The discount is valid for up to five immediate family members. Restrictions may apply to special exhibits.

'Next to Normal' cast
The Charleston Light Opera Guild has cast its FestivALL production, "Next to Normal," which it will stage June 15-16 and 22-23 at the Civic Center Little Theater.
Starring in the Tony Award-winning rock musical are Emily Capece and Ryan Hardiman. Also in the small ensemble cast are Madeline Southall, Scott Jarrell, Matthew Bryant and Tim Whitener. Tickets are $20.
