Renaissance Art Gallery

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Renaissance Art Gallery will be closed on the July Fourth holiday. There will be no classes and no studio hours. Classes will resume July 11. All regular fine art classes will be held.

Teen art show winners

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The 2012 FestivALL Teen Art Show and Sale took place June 14-18 at Charleston Town Center Mall with George Washington High School, St. Albans High School, McKinley Middle School and Sissonville Middle School participating.

Nearly 200 pieces of artwork in five categories were exhibited. Judges Dick Allowatt, Sharon Harms and Steve Payne presented 16 awards including best in show, won by Sarah West of St. Albans High School for her painting.

First-place acknowledgements include:

Drawing: Taylor Crouch, George Washington High; Alissa McLaughlin, McKinley Middle

Painting: Sarah West, St. Albans High; Chris Petry, Sissonville Middle

Pen and ink: Dalton Westfall, George Washington High; Brett Reed, Sissonville Middle

Mixed media: Nathan Brown, St. Albans High; Andrew Frazier, McKinley Middle

Sculpture: Holly Rhodes, George Washington High; Ariel Holliday, Sissonville Middle
