Art exhibit opening

The West Virginia Division of Culture and History opens "The Oil and Gas Industry: West Virginia's Gift to the World" on Friday. The exhibit features gas pumps with clear glass cylinders, antique oil drums and "yellow dog" lanterns (named because their burning wicks resemble a dog's glowing eyes at night).

Other items on display will include a vintage Pennzoil gas station sign, wooden and glass oilcans, drilling tools and a double-piston oil pump. Call Charles Morris at 304-558-0220.

Fayetteville play

The Historic Fayette Theater stages the family comedy "The Clumsy Custard & Ice Cream Clone Review" at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Aug. 3-4 and 2 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 5 at the theater, 115 S. Court St. The show, which includes audience participation, takes place in a magical kingdom where a princess has been kidnapped.

Bluegrass benefit concert

Santa Grass, a bluegrass concert for the Secret Santa charity in Kanawha and Boone counties, runs 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Alban Arts Center, 65 Olde Main St., St. Albans. The concert lineup is Jesse McKenzie & Brushy Fork Bluegrass at 4 p.m., The Band Wagon at 5 p.m., The Grass Stains at 6 p.m., Once Blue at 7 p.m. and Hominy Falls at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10. Film casting call

A casting call for the feature film "Moving Mountains" runs noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the WVSU Economic Development Center (DigiSo), 1506 Kanawha Blvd. W. There are small speaking parts and major supporting character roles available, including the elderly and children, though most are in 30-60 age range.

Actors should bring a recent headshot or photo with their name, age, phone, email, height, eye color written on the back. They should have a short dramatic monologue prepared and be ready to do cold readings. Actors will be seen in order of arrival.
