The second annual Clash in the Coalfields begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Madison Civic Center in Boone County. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Part of the proceeds will go to the Ancient Mystic Order of Samaritans, which will use them to support Camp Kno-Koma, a juvenile diabetes camp. Email HARDe...@gmail.com.

Lt. Dan Band concert

On Aug. 16, Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band will perform at Marietta College in a benefit for U.S. Army Spc. Kyle Hockenberry, a triple amputee wounded in Afghanistan. All proceeds go to building a smart home for Hockenberry.

Smart homes are custom-designed houses that address the specific needs of severely wounded veterans, helping give them the capability to live more independent lives.

The concert, presented by The Gary Sinise Foundation and The Tunnels for Towers Foundation, begins at 7 p.m. in school's rec center. Tickets are $35, $55 and $75. Call 740-373-5178. Purchase tickets at www.metrotix.com by searching "Kyle Hockenberry."
