KCPL teen contest voting
Voting is under way for the Kanawha County Public Library's Reel Teens Book Trailer Contest. Entrants created trailers for the literary works "Speak," "Captain Underpants," "A Spaniard in the Works," "The Crossroads" and "The New Lexicon Webster's Dictionary of the English Language."
Go to www.kanawhalibrary.org/teenzone between now and Sept. 10 to vote for your favorite. Winners will be announced Sept. 12. First place is $100, second is $50 and third is $25.
'Hello Dolly!' auditions
The Charleston Light Opera Guild will hold more auditions for "Hello, Dolly!" Thursday at its theater, 411 Tennessee Ave. Dance auditions begin at 7 p.m. and singing auditions at 8:30 p.m. All roles are still available. Call 304-545-6945.

Belly dance lessons
The Samadhi Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Troupe will begin a new six-week session on Tuesday. It will focus on learning choreography for the troupe's Halloween show. Classes are once a week at 6:10 p.m. for beginners and 7:10 p.m. for intermediate dancers. They are held at The Raw Bar, 3121 Sissonville Road. Cost is $60; advance registration is required. W.Va. filmmakers entries sought
The West Virginia Filmmakers Festival is seeking entries for its 2012 festival and nominations for West Virginia Filmmaker of the Year. The festival takes place Oct. 5-7 in Sutton.
Entries for the festival are open to feature films, documentaries, shorts, animation and experimental works from around the country that have some sort of tie to West Virginia. They can feature a West Virginia cast or crewmember, be made in or about the state or hold some interest for West Virginians.
To nominate someone for the West Virginia Filmmaker of the Year, send an email of 200 words or less to wvfilmmakerofthey...@wvfilmmakersfestival.org. The WVFF awards the honor to "the filmmaker whose most recent work or lifetime work has had the utmost impact on the West Virginia film industry."
